K STRIP, KNOTTY

K STRIP, Knotty is the top of the line, sound, structural grade similar to a narrow Premium Frame.  Each board contains one rail with a minimum cutting 3 1/2 inch (88.90 mm)  to 4 1/2 inch (114.30 mm) wide by 84 inches (213.36 cm) long or longer.  This product is also popular where a knotty appearance is desired.  

Widths:  3 1/2 inch (88.90 mm) to 4 1/2 inch (114.30 mm) only.

Lengths:  84 inch (213.36 cm) minimum.

Minimum Size Cuttings: Minimum of one cutting 3 1/2 inch (88.90 mm)  to 4 1/2 inch (114.30 mm)  by  84 inch (213.36 cm) sound cutting as described in Sound Cutting.  

Grade Notes: This grade admits all boards of 24 inches (60.96 cm) and over, surface measure yielding not less than 83.33 percent structurally sound cuttings.

Face knot size is limited to 1/2 inch (12.70 mm) unsound and 1 inch (25.40 mm) sound   

Each board will yield not less than 83 1/3 percent.  The reverse side will grade to Frame or better.  

Pencil wane is allowed in the K-Strip product and defined as 1/4 inch in depth by 1/4 inch in width. 

Side bend is not allowed, as defined in SIDE BEND
