The Forest Stewardship Council (
FSCâ) Standard is an important asset now and in the future.

Washington Alder LLC purchases all of their hardwood logs on the open market from wood producers in the States of Washington and Oregon.

We are committed to and participate in the Forest Stewardship Council (
FSCâ) standards program, which practices a land stewardship ethic of principles, goals and performance confirmation.

Our
FSCâ program is reviewed by Independent third party auditors annually who certify that our procurement practices are in compliance with the FSCâ standards.

This standard specifies the requirements under each system element that, if successfully implemented, allow organizations to sell and label products as
FSCâ Pure, FSCâ Mixed, or FSCâ Recycled, or to sell materials as FSCâ Controlled Wood.

This standard is applied at the site level of
Chain of Custody operations. Chain of Custody certification is required for organizations that want to produce and sell
FSCâ-certified materials or products; or produce and promote FSCâ-certified products; or trades materials or products with FSCâ claims.

The
Chain of Custody certification is not required for organizations that do not gain legal ownership of such materials or products but simply arrange for buyer and seller: a) to make a deal without taking physical possession (often called an ‘agent’); or b) to transport the materials or products.
